IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CLIMBERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18
Climbers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the liability waiver. You can download and print the liability waiver from the website or fill one out at the gym.
Facility Rules
- Everyone at Climber's Rock MUST check in at the front desk.
- All climbers & belayers must sign the Liability Waiver. Minors 17 years or younger must have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in the presence of a Climber's Rock staff member (with the exception of group events when at least one adult is present to verify other parent's signatures)
- Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children. Children 13 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Climber's Rock does not allow any instruction in the gym other than that offered by our instructors and staff.
- No drugs, alcohol or tobacco use is allowed in Climber's Rock.
- Climber's Rock does not permit the use of profanity or inappropriate language.
- We ask that all participants refrain from yelling, screaming, etc.
- Walking only please. No running, jogging, skipping, cart-wheeling, back flips, etc.
- No swinging or bouncing on the ropes.
- No food or drinks (other than WATER-only bottles) allowed on the padded floor.
- Any unsafe condition or damage to equipment or the climbing walls, including loose holds and any accident or injury, must be reported immediately to gym staff.
- Please pickup after yourself. Help to keep the gym clean for yourself and others.
Climbing Rules
- All climbers must be certified by a Climber's Rock staff member before top-rope belaying, lead belaying, lead climbing, or topping out on boulder. Climber's Rock certification cards must be displayed for lead belaying and lead climbing.
- All climbers must wear shoes while climbing. The use of shoes, boots, crampons, etc. that may damage walls, floors, etc. is not permitted.
- No bare feet allowed. Please wear socks, slippers, crocs, etc. when not in climbing shoes.
- Do not climb above or below other climbers; this includes traversing.
- You must be aware of the possible trajectory of another climber's fall, particularly on the lead wall and overhangs. Stand clear! Conversely, if you are climbing and think you may endanger another if you fall, speak up!
- Belayers must belay from their harness; no sitting or lying down while belaying.
- Climber's Rock staff has the right to revoke climbing privileges either temporarily or permanently for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
