#climbersrock

Hi I’m James. Back in the nineties I tried rock climbing in BC with some friends and was blown away from the start. After moving back to Toronto for work I found a great indoor climbing gym (still around at the time of this post) and dragged anyone I could convince from our office at Queen and University to go climbing with me. Back then, climbing gyms were few and far between in Ontario. Our names and addresses were hand written (and spelled how they sounded) on our membership cards.

On Hallows’ Eve 2008, Climber’s Rock began welcoming folks from all walks of life indoors to experience the thrill of rock climbing. My partner in life & business Maria and I started small with big dreams and went looking for others who loved the sport as much as we did. I can still vividly remember the look on the faces of climbers who walked in and saw our gym for the first time. We realized very early that our passion for the sport was not uncommon and that this gym would be a special place.

Today, 16 years & more than 160,000 faces later, we continue to enjoy the look :)
