Can I bring kids to Climber’s Rock?

We love seeing young climbers getting into rock climbing, but our facilities aren’t specifically designed for children. Climbing involves risk, and our walls can feel high and challenging for younger climbers. Because of this, we have a few supervision rules in place to help keep everyone safe:

Supervision Requirements

Youth Age 7 and Under:

  • Must have 1:1 direct supervision from an adult (one adult per child).

  • The supervising adult must stay with the child at all times.

Youth Age 8-13:

  • Must have 1:3 direct supervision from an adult (one adult per three children).

  • The supervising adult must stay with the children at all times.

Youth age 14+ can climb without adult supervision provided they abide by all gym rules. All youth under the age of 18 must have a waiver submitted and signed by their own parent or legal guardian. If you’re a parent or legal guardian of a youth climber who is planning a visit and has not previously visited our climbing gym, please create a portal account and submit your child’s waiver in advance.

Relaxed Youth Supervision:

We may approve an exception for:

  • Experienced and responsible youth climbers

  • Long-term members

  • Participant of competitive, high performance teams

If you can identify your family as having one or more of these exceptions, you can apply for our Relaxed Youth Supervision.

What is Relaxed Youth Supervision?

The relaxed supervision guidelines are designed to offer greater flexibility for families while ensuring a safe climbing environment. This exception is offered to experienced climbers, who acknowledge their heightened responsibility to manage the safety of their dependent(s) within the climbing area.

Parent/Guardian Participation: Parents or legal guardians who are actively supervising their child(ren) under the age of 14 are permitted to climb alongside them.

Deviation from Standard Supervision Ratios: The implementation of these relaxed guidelines permits a variance from the facility's standard supervisor-to-child ratio.
